a little more about me…

hi, i’m hannah mack (they/them). i’m a queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent, white mama, educator, creative, and community organizer who loooooves working with teens and young people. i’m a former middle/high school english teacher, turned unschooling facilitator (and pa homeschool evaluator) and teaching artist with over 15 years experience. throughout my teaching career, i centered personal storytelling and passion-driven research and sought ways to amplify student voices and visions into public spaces. from teen publications to story and art exhibitions to days of listening, i believes in the wisdom of teens and their ability to shape change through self-expression, creation, and collaboration.

heartbroken with the reality that “changing the school system from the inside out” was futile, i left public ed in 2018 to help launch alternative schools in philadelphia. as a founding board member of Philly ALC and co-founder of The Dandelion Project, i know a thing or two about bringing grand ideas into fruition. i’ve also experienced projects not going as planned, not experiencing the results we’d most hoped for, and failure as a catalyst for transformation. it’s my passion and purpose to support young people in believing in their hearts and growing the skills to actualize their dreams (or at least take the first step). let’s build something beautiful together.
